THE BELLINGHAM CULTURAL COUNCIL HOLDS
OPEN ART COMPETITION AT STEPS!!!
The Bellingham Cultural Council's 2010 Open Art Competition will be hosted by STEPS OFF BROADWAY PRODUCTIONS.
The show will run through the end of June. The winners have been selected and ribbons have been awarded!
Categories are oil/acrylic, watercolor, and graphics. many of these fine works will be offered for sale.
Steps is proud to be the official host for this. Our lobby
is filled with glorious artwork by some of our community's finest talent. Please stop by to see
this amazing display, running through the month of June!

CAROLINE ULANSKI
STEPS STUDENT OF THE YEAR!
Our student of the year for 2010 was a unanimous decision amongst all teachers. She has clearly shown how hard work, dedication, and commitment can result in success. This dancer has made progress in all classes and is a pleasure to have as a student. She is someone you can rely on to remember choreography. She strives for improvement in technique and performance on a daily basis. She takes instruction well and accepts critique with a positive attitude. She is a true friend to all.
This young woman is someone you have most likely noticed on stage this weekend. It’s hard to miss that expression of happiness that she emits when she is performing. You can tell that she really loves being here…and we love having her. Her talents extend beyond dance into the musical theater world and she has participated in many shows at Steps. But, even in the midst of rehearsals, you can find this student still in her dance classes up until the minute rehearsal begins. This is true dedication. Through illness and bad weather, she manages to make it to her classes. Our student of the year is a special person in class, onstage, and outside our doors. We are proud to honor her today for her accomplishments this year. She certainly deserves this recognition.

In a grand surprise moment at this past weekend's final recital performance,
STEPS IN ACTION, our amazing volunteer & parents operated support group, chairperson, Annette Cormier
(representing the Steps In Action Committee) presented the students and the staff of
STEPS with two INSIGNIA 200 stereo receivers and 2 pairs of BOSE speakers! WE can not thank the good folks from STEPS IN ACTION
enough for their dedication to our students! These fantastic gifts will allow STEPS OFF BROADWAY to continue offering
our community with quality training and education in the performing arts.

Katie Valencia is the proud winner of our "design our recital cover" competition!
Her bright colors and eclectic style was chosen from an impressive list of entries created
by many of our multi-talented students. It was a tough decision to make. We also
thought her quote was the perfect way of describing what we strive for, here, at STEPS!
WORK HARD & HAVE FUN!
All of the entries were so worthy of phrase, that we have decided to
display them in our lobby throughout the spring.

PROJECT FACELIFT UPDATE!!!
Our PROJECT FACELIFT is continuing and there have been some great, new changes
made here at STEPS! There has been a lot of activity over the Spring Break. We are pleased to announce our
newly remodeled business and reception center has been completed and is ready for the next session.
This has been accomplished with the dedication and commitment of our Board of Advisor members, Pat Goldsmith, and our friends at
